Each hand-crafted metal box contains eleven art objects including a stylish chiffon scarf printed with a photo by Barbara Weissberger specifically made for this project, along with her flaccid “Leathermann;” ceramic battery operated i-vibrator; and a full-sized hand-dyed patchwork tarp for shelter. Eleanor Aldrich designed the silicon godseye, felted bag of pills, silicon toothbrush, ceramic gas mask, and the Leave2Live logo that seals a letter of advice to the survivor. Kelly Hendrickson created the ceramic shrimp, and Erin Belieu offered her poem, Ars Poetica For The Future, which we etched on fluorescent acrylic. The objects - including the box itself - is hand-crafted by Carolyn Henne and Judy Rushin, making each box unique.
